Building a rotating house.

Design: Ed and Annet Kueter, Alkmaar, The Netherlands
Interior Architect: Frans Tauber

Rotating System: Vaags Molenwerken

Ed Kueter, who has worked in construction since childhood, has dreamed of building a cube house for years. Partly because of his expertise in mill construction, he and his wife Annet decided that it should become a rotating house.

The entire house was built in a shed. Wooden constructions covered with sheet material. It was then disassembled into segments and reassembled at the construction site.

During construction in the shed, the foundations, supply and discharge, the drainage, and the turning system were prepared on the construction site.

The house can rotate with the sun for the benefit of the solar panels on the roof, but the position can also be changed for other reasons.
