Zaanse Schans. Walk through the 18th and 19th centuries.
A must see top attraction, very close to Amsterdam is the Zaanse Schans. It is an open air museum where the 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life.
The Zaanse Schans mills are industrial windmills. They produce cocoa, oil, paint or they saw wood. In this video we take a look inside a mill that grinds various products to oil. You don’t have to pay for visiting the area of the Zaanse Schans, but to take a look inside the mills they ask an entrance fee. Therewith the expensive maintenance can be paid.
